Press Release

*Correction* Weehawken boat fire update 1

New York-Two yachts caught fire in a New Jersey marina approximately 7 a.m., today.

Initially one yacht was burning but wind carrying flames ignited another at Lincoln Harbor Marina, Weehawken, N.J.

The New York Fire Department, North Hudson Fire Department, Weehawken Fire Department, Coast Guard Station New York and New Jersey State Police responded.

Coast Guard Sector New York is sending marine safety investigators to assess pollution to the marina and surrounding waters.

"The Coast Guard is working with the fire department to get the fire under control," said Ensign Maria Rosario, a command duty officer at Coast Guard Sector New York.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
