Good Samaritan plucks four from water after boat sinks

New York - A Good Samaritan rescued four people after their 30-foot boat began to take on water 29-miles south of Fire Island, N.Y. this morning.

The fishing boat Anger Management contacted Coast Guard Sector Long Island Sound via marine band radio channel 16 at 10:36 a.m. today, stating their boat was taking on water and in danger of sinking.

The Coast Guard launched a rescue boat crew from Station Fire Island to assist, however a Good Samaritan in the area rescued all four boaters from the water as the fishing boat was sinking.

The Good Samaritan boat Gina Ann is currently en route to Jones Beach Inlet, N.Y. where a rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Jones beach will transfer the boaters to land.

The four boaters were wearing life jackets and reported to be in god condition.
