KINGSTON, N.Y.- A class of 8th grade physics students from Rippowam Cisqua School, based near Bedford, N.Y., visit the Coast Guard Cutter Sturgeon Bay during an underway field trip on the Hudson River near Kingston, N.Y., Feb. 17, 2010.

Forty-five students spent the day with the Sturgeon Bay crew learning about the ins and outs of a ship in preparation for designing a nuclear powered submarine for a class competition.

The Coast Guard Cutter Sturgeon Bay crew, homeported in Bayonne, N.J., hosts students from various New York and New Jersey schools as participants in the Partnership In Education program.
